The former director of the ADAGIO DANCE EXPERIENCE and the I LOVE TO DANCE studio in New York is the proud owner of DIANAS DANCE EXPRESS! DDE has been in Springhill since 1998. Diana has studied with some of the greatest teachers in the dance and theater field. Having danced with such famous teachers and performers as Phil Black and Frank Hatchett of the Broadway Steps Dance Centerand and renowned tap master Luigi, Diana has danced with some of the very best.
Diana was chosen Tri-State Fred Astaire Proffesional Ballroom Champion. She has performed at such places as the New York Felt Forum in Madison Square Garden, The Playboy International Hotel, Golden Nugget International, and the Famous Roseland Dance Emporium. She was a choreographer and a principle dancer on MTV and VH1 which also featured many of her students as well. Along with performing in the famous MACYS THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE, she also starred in a production of West Side Story that toured both New York and New Jersey.
Several of Diana's students have been featured in modeling catalogs, New York City Cabarets, and have auditioned for Broadway Shows, television commercials, music videos and more. In 2013 some of Diana's students went to Orlando, Florida to a dance convention with the Artists Simply Human Group (ASH) in which 2 of her students, including her son Carlos Carrasquillo, won ASH scholarships and have been invited to a National competition in June in Atlantic City! Diana is very active in her community, working with several school organizations. She is always volunteering for someone in need. Organizations Diana has worked with include: The Week of the Young Child, The Worlds Largest Baby Shower, Weeki Wachee YMCA Duck Race, Hernando County Reading Festival, among others.
Always striving to be the best teacher she can be, Diana has certifications in early chilhood communications, adolescent awarness, and public speaking. In addition she is a staff member for the YMCA. She is a certified personal trainer, pom-pom dance cheer team coordinator, certified instructor for strength excercise, group excercise, circuit training, and nutrition and excercise for weight management.
Diana received the 2002 Everyday Hero award for all of her community charity work in Hernando County with children, the elderly, and children with special needs. In 2006 she was honored with the Hernando County Hispanic Business Leader award.
